Light as presence
Light is directed as an active material: revealing, isolating, protecting or transforming the figure.
About / Author dossier
Rostyslav Brenych is a photographer and multidisciplinary visual artist working across fashion, portraiture, analog film, staged atmosphere and extended visual projects.
For more than 18 years, photography has remained the central field of practice - shaped by light, gesture, body, silence, memory and the construction of visual presence.
Photography platform
This platform gathers the photographic field: current art-fashion chapters, analog black-and-white work, selected archive records, figure studies and exhibition-oriented projects.
Method / visual language
The work approaches photography as a constructed atmosphere rather than a surface record. Fashion, portraiture and body studies are treated through distance, gesture, shadow, silence and the slow tension between figure and space.
Light is directed as an active material: revealing, isolating, protecting or transforming the figure.
The body becomes a carrier of pressure, silence, posture and emotional distance.
Clothing is treated as silhouette, tension, identity and symbolic form rather than only styling.
A portrait becomes strongest when it holds a state, not only a likeness.
Black-and-white film preserves another rhythm: trace, pause, grain, disappearance and return.
Recent work extends image, motion and interaction into authored digital environments.
Trajectory / 18+ years
The practice began with early film and digital experiments, moved through fashion tests, analog black-and-white sequences and staged portrait work, and gradually formed into the current art-fashion and exhibition language.
Origin
Intuitive observation, film fragments and personal visual experiments formed the first image language.
Formation
Model tests, editorial portraits and fashion experiments shaped posture, proportion, movement and presence.
Expansion
Black-and-white sequences, outdoor tests and staged portraits expanded the practice through route, trace and atmosphere.
Now
The current direction works through surreal studio light, cinematic color, experimental styling and complete visual worlds.
Selected exhibitions
Selected biennials, gallery contexts and presentation settings connected to the photographic and extended visual practice.

Connected practices
Beyond photography, the practice extends into painting, music and authored digital environments. These fields are not separate identities, but parallel ways of working with rhythm, atmosphere, gesture, memory and constructed presence.
Surface / gesture / symbolic tension
Canvas-based visual work focused on surface, color, symbolic tension and the physical trace of gesture.
In preparationAlbums / rhythm / emotional architecture
Recorded albums and sound works developed as a parallel field of rhythm, memory and emotional architecture.
